A SENSE OF IRELAND
Mackey's Irish
bar and restaurant offers a sense of Ireland, and of Dublin's
public houses in particular, in the heart of Washington DC.
We carry some of Ireland's finest beers, such as Guinness
and Smithwick's, and our menu offers a mix of traditional Irish dishes and saloon
favorites.

The atmosphere
is warm and inviting, with a combination of small, private
areas to appeal to those seeking a small, intimate space,
and more open areas for people looking for a more bustling
atmosphere.

The
main bar area is decorated in the style that was popular in
Dublin in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with dark
wood and comfortable bar stools. On one side there is a room
with booths and "snugs", which are small areas with a table
and a few chairs or benches partly enclosed by partitions of
wood and frosted glass to give the occupants a measure of privacy.
At the back is a big open space decorated in the style of an
old Irish country farmhouse with a fireplace and tables and
chairs. |
